How To Make Money – Are You Sure This Is What You Want?

I do not think anyone will argue with me when I say that the person who actually takes the necessary actions to learn how to make money is more likely to have success doing so than the person who plays the lottery every Wednesday hoping that by chance they will win. Making money relies on setting goals. However, while people often have a goal to be rich, they generally do not realize how far down on their list of things they want to accomplish this goal really is.

To make money, you need to set goals. Setting goals requires two thing: i) leadership; and ii) management. The former includes completing the right tasks, while the latter involves completing tasks correctly. What usually happens when we analyze time management is that we pay attention to doing things correctly, but assume that we are doing the right tasks. Not surprisingly, much of the time we are not doing the right task.

Due to the fact that you have come across this article, I will conclude that you want to learn how to make money. This desire to make money most likely stems from a desire to be happy with your circumstance. Since this has been established, the next step is working on your goals. I have devised the following four step process which I highly recommend that you adopt when setting your goals.

Step 1

Get a blank piece of paper. At the top of the paper, write down the title “values”. For the next fifteen minutes, I want you to write down everything in this world which you value. If having money is one of your values, do not shy away from writing this down.

Step 2

On the top of a separate blank piece of paper, write down “lifetime goals”. Here you are encouraged to think big. For instance, where would you like to live? Where would you visit if money and time were not an object? What do you want to make sure that you experience in your lifetime? Is your lifetime goal to teach yourself how to make money? There are no limitations here. Write all of your lifetime goals down.

Step 3

On the top of a separate blank piece of paper, write down what you would do if you only had six months to live. Do not take this lightly, as some of us may only have six months to live, but do not know it yet. I have lost some friends who appeared to be completely healthy six month prior to their deaths. Therefore, you should list every single thing that you would do if you only had six months to live.

The reason why I have added this step is because it requires that you pinpoint what is really important to you in your life. Whenever I complete this step, I usually find myself writing down goals which I did not include in Step 2.

Step 4

On the top of a separate blank piece of paper, write down your goals for this year. After doing the first three steps, you will find this step much easier than the others. These are the goals to focus on right now.

I wrote this article to help you to put things in perspective. Many people are fixated on discovering how to make money, and their goals focus on these things. While it is true that those who are goal oriented are more likely to be doing things right when it comes to how to make money, it is not necessarily true that they are doing things right to make their lives better.
